Folks take a minute and pat yourselfs on the back

Hi,

Came to this forum for the GIM but I check on the gun forum and the SF forum on a regular basis.

Since 9/11 we have been heavy into guns and training and I have spent a lot of time on other gunboards.

What I wanted to say is that this board hands down has the least amount of BS and bad advice as any that I have seen. There are many members here that really know their stuff and are willing to share it, thanks for "sharing the sunshine" as John Farnam would say.

You noobs are certainly fortunate to have such a resource. To the ones that know 1st hand please carry on! :ARMS1:

Something to remember is what Pat Roger says shooting is easy to learn, fighting is what is hard.

Welcome my Good Sir

We have Reloaders, Smiths, Makers, Trainers and ammo dumps

If the Firearm part of GIM all got together we could probally take over anyone of the 50 states and claim it as our our own.

Only The Best........and the craizest can pull it off :ok:

Brother TA speaks the truth. I hang out here rather than a lot of the gun forums because the people here truly realize what we are up against and have "checked the ego at the door" for the most part. Gun forums are full of "type A" personalities who like to beat their chest and force their opinions on others. I do not need to list my credentials and claim to be the end-all, be-all to firearms knowledge. I prefer to gather information from others and then make the decision for what is best FOR ME. What is good for you may not fit my needs, or that of the next guy. Most people here offer up their OPINION without trying to make you see things their way...big difference. I am glad you see the same things I do here at GIM.

that's brilliant, Heim!
We got some pretty knowledgable people here, sure.
Wallew, you're one of em, but it sure it fun/easy to press your caliber button!
plus it was fun when we ribbed you for posting that "gay porn"!
hehe... good times here on GIM.

Agree with all above posts. I can't stand the patriotards on most gun forums and I've always got good answers to any gun question I've posted here in GIM. No one here seems to have an agenda regarding firearms (except that guns are good!), no dick-measuring contests, just polite discourse! (pats self on back).

Eh, I do what I can guys :P

Yall are both good sports to let me keep posting it too!

Theres is definitly a heap of knowledge to be had at GIM and the gun forum is no exception.

I belong to a couple gun forums for various firearms I have and I still havent found one I've liked more than the GIM subforum.

I don't frequent the other firearm forums, but for what it's worth I'll second the OP's opinion. Not only have all my (sometimes noob) questions been answered courteously and surprisingly promptly by other members, I've learned a lot by reading many of the other threads in this sub-forum. I think the Firearms sub-forum has been a great success!

I remember during the Ammo and Gun Frenzy of 08/09

That was a vital tool on where you could stock up on decent supplies.

I Found my Sagias and Mosins by hanging around there.

Argent Dragon was ruling the roost with posting the daily updates from Classic arms.

Them days were pure pandemonium.

But ya loved it.:ok:

30.06 from a M1 Garand, If you can shoot, it will take anything on the North American Continent.

I don't want to be an A hole but you easily prove my point.
Would you lug an M1 Garand on a sheep hunt to Alaska? I sure as hell wouldn't.
That type of hunt is maybe once in a lifetime if your lucky. It's also straight up vertical hiking.
I want a LIGHT all weather stock, bolt action 270 or 300 winchester mag. Probably a Remington XCR or something similar.

An M1 weighs 9.5 lbs loaded, the Remington with scope weighs 8.5 lbs loaded.
